Pint Description: Smooth brown butter ice surf layered with a velvety crunchified version of the weightier (and simplest!) Girl Scout cookie.
Brown Butter Ice Cream: A linty and smooth wiring with a sweet but summery velvety flavor.
Crunchified Shortbread Cookies: Yes, they are crumbled shortbread cookies, but I’m uncertain if they are unquestionably Girl Scout cookies or an spanking-new knockoff version. They taste largest than what I expect from Girl Scout cookies. They’re very sugary, sweet, and buttery. I can see and taste the sugar crystals—and perhaps that’s what the “crunchified” refers to: I’m speculating, but the cookies may have been crumbled and cooked in butter and sugar, which is to say basically candied.
And there’s lots of cookies in this pint. Half the pint is well-balanced of cookies. Plenty of big ones too: some large chunks are over two inches long. But there are many smaller chunks and crumbs throughout as well. Every spoonful, plane if you get taste of the base, is full of cookie crumbs. The larger cookies are still crunchy, while smaller crumbs mixed into the pint are softer.
Overall: Caffe Panna Butter Up is the shortbread Girl Scout cookie dream pint. Yes, this pint is just cookies and ice cream. But the wiring is premium quality—rich, thick, creamy, mildly buttery, very sweet. And my god, there are a ton of cookies. So many cookies. Crunchy, uneaten sweet, uneaten velvety shortbread cookies for days. The texture is nice as the large pieces of cookies provide a lot of crunch—so satisfying. Sure, the savor profile may be leaning towards one note with both the ice surf wiring and the cookies stuff buttery. But if that’s your itch, this pint will scratch it. Recommended for the shortbread heads. 8/10.
